Health Education teacher Richelle Calderon has been named a “Health Education Section Amazing Person” for New York State for her work with the Dove Self-Esteem Project.
The project promotes body confidence and self-esteem in students through a curriculum that focuses on what the body can do, rather than what it looks like. Calderon was honored by the New York State Association for Physical Education, Health, Recreation, and Dance at its annual conference on Nov. 20.
