The Journal News has named seven New Rochelle High School Seniors to its list of the top 100 varsity soccer players in Section 1 - more players than any other Section 1 high school. In the top 100 list are Emmanuel Gonzalez, Nathan Grandwetter, Damian Torres, and David Lore, with Ethan Shaw being named one of the top 30 players in Section 1, and Adrian Medina and Josemiguel Ayala named in the top 11 Section 1 players.
“We are very proud of these boys for earning such prestigious nominations and selections,” said Boys Varsity Soccer Head Coach Jarohan Garcia. “Their talent is evident and bodes well for the upcoming season. We can’t wait to see them on the pitch.”
At last week’s soccer team tryouts, a whopping 194 student-athletes registered to be part of one of the four boys’ soccer high school teams, setting an all-time record!
“We’re looking forward to a great season for this year’s athletes and to a strong future for the soccer program,” said Coach Garcia.
